Die Tuschemalereien von Angela Stauber entspringen Betrachtungen von städtischen Strukturen. Architektur und urbanes Raumgefüge werden in Farbflächen umgesetzt. Dabei entstehen kontrastreiche Kompositionen, die gängige perspektivische Darstellungen von Raum ad absurdum führen. Dimensionen wie nah und fern verschränken sich. Die Bilder erinnern an Gesehenes und rufen – nicht zuletzt durch die Farbkombinationen – viele Assoziationen hervor. Und so sind sie doch mehr als bloße Betrachtungen: sie wollen Anstöße sein, Visionen bieten und eine Ahnung von Einheit im Bild auftauchen lassen.
Angela Stauber’s ink paintings are based on observations of urban structures. Architecture and urban spatial structures are translated into color surfaces. This results in high-contrast compositions that take conventional perspective representations of space ad absurdum. Dimensions such as near and far intertwine. The pictures are reminiscent of things seen and evoke many associations – not least due to the color combinations. And so they are more than mere observations: they want to be stimuli, offer visions and give an idea of unity.
