„introspektiv“ ist eine Reihe von kleinformatigen Ölbildern, die den/die Betrachter*in in Atelierräume blicken lässt. Zu sehen sind ausschnitthafte Räume, gefüllt mit verschiedenen Dingen, Skulpturen, einem Protagonisten. Wer nah an die kleinen Bilder herantritt, kann den Künstler Alberto Giacometti erkennen. Die Arbeiten sind mit mal lasierendem, mal pastosem Farbauftrag immer so gemalt, dass die Malerei in ein Spannungsverhältnis mit dem Motiv tritt – es geht nicht um gute und schnelle Erkennbarkeit der abgebildeten Szene, sondern um die Möglichkeit, den künstlerischen Prozess nachzuempfinden. Der Betrachter/ die Betrachterin wird so zum Teilhaber; besonders dann, wenn er/sie durch die eigenständige Malerei hindurch die Szene entschlüsselt hat.
“Introspective” is a seven-part series of small-format oil paintings that allow the viewer to look into the studio. You can see fragmentary rooms, filled with different things, sculptures, a protagonist. If you get close to the small pictures, you can recognize the artist Alberto Giacometti. The works are always painted with a varnish, sometimes impasto application of paint in such a way that the painting enters into a tension with the motif – it is not about easy and quick recognizability of the depicted scene, but about the possibility of feeling the artistic process. The viewer thus becomes a partner; especially if he / she has deciphered the scene through painting independently.
